Pease Porridge

DESCRIPTION: A dish of peas cooked
in milk

1 1/2 cups dried green peas

2 cups milk

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper
Place the dried pies in a large bowl and cover with cold
water; let
soak overnight, then drain & rinse. Place peas and milk in a
saucepan
and cook slowly over a low heat; stir frequently and do not allow the
milk
to come to a boil. Cook until the peas are soft, about 1 to 1 1/2
hours.
Using a food processor or blender, thoroughly blend together the peas
and
milk until smooth; stir in spices. Serve.
